California Thoughts

The weather in California this weekend was ridiculous with no humidity. The air was so fresh with hints of mary jane. We went into Hollywood and caught Jimmy Kimmel Live. We had 2nd row seats for the show. There was a lot of clapping and fake laughing. Erik Estrada was a surprise guest on the show. Kimmel needs to go outside more, he looked a little pale or had too much make-up on. We went outside and caught the musical guest which was Slightly Stoopid. KROQ knew about this so there were a ton of high school kids there just for Slightly Stoopid. I guess they are the new Sublime. Brody Jenner was on the side of the stage, VIP Style, god he's cool! People there love to bike ride by the beach. My sister convinced us to go from Hermosa Beach to Venice Beach which was 13 miles there and 13 back. The views of the Pacific Ocean were amazing. There were some surfer bros out there doing it up. We walked around Venice and saw a skate park, robots, and head shops. People were also boxing, playing basketball, paddle ball, and hand ball. There is also a gym outside with bleachers by it which is why they call it Muscle Beach. Some guy was wearing a purple speedo while lifting weights and trying really hard to be like "The Situation." The mexican food in Cali is on point. The breakfast burritos are top notch. I also had some Fat Tire beer which is only sold on the West Coast. The 22oz one is where it's at. We had dinner at this place called Fusion Sushi. I'm pretty sure Lady Gaga was at the table next to us. The blonde hair, white corset, miny top hat, and limo were dead giveaways. We met some of my sister's soccer friends one night. They have a different handshake then your traditional one. The Cali Handshake is a slap followed by a fist bump. I played some outdoor Hermosa Sports which included tennis and beach volleyball. Then went to a bar called Barnacles. They had a very friendly bartender who made an absurd jager bomb and knew 12 kinds of mind erasers. The playlist was a great classic rock blend. Overall, a solid weekend was had by all.
