MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden said the following about the band’s new track that will be featured on their upcoming Congratulations album:
“It’s kind of a vampire-punk-rock song about finding Brian Eno in like a cathedral in Transylvania. He’s like a dark wizard. We originally asked him to produce the track, but he hadn’t heard of us.”

The Los Angeles alt-rockers just posted "Between the Lines," the lead single off their May 25 self-titled reunion release, to their website.
The track is quintessential STP: melodic, catchy, and heavy. It kicks off with some heavy drum fills and snappy talk-singing from singer Scott Weiland -- sounding like he's been listening to a lot of Bob Dylan -- then drops into a gritty chorus with a clapping drum beat: “You always were my favorite drug / Even when we used to take drugs,” sings Weiland. Dean DeLeo then steps in for a neo-psychedelic guitar solo.
